FIRST TIME BLOGGER
To be honest I’ve avoided blogging. I’ve been intimidated by the amazing blog posts I’ve read, where to start, what to say, etc…. and I’ve been working on writing a book….but now that the book is done and published, I am facing my fears and starting a blog! I’m not sure how often I’ll be able to post, but as life allows and inspiration comes, I’ll write.
Speaking of my book being done and published, can I just take a second and say MY BOOK IS DONE AND PUBLISHED!!!! I feel like jumping up and down every time I say that. It feels incredibly surreal, and I still occasionally do a happy dance when I look down at the cover and see my name…MY name…on a book cover. It’s for real. But right behind that happy dance moment comes a moment of uncertainty. Will people like it? Will they be encouraged and inspired by it? Because that is why I wrote it. I don’t just want a book with my name on it, I want a book that will encourage its readers and that will help them draw closer to the heart of God. That is my hope and prayer.
The week my book came in, I had opened my Bible App to catch up on some reading and the verse of the day was Ephesians 3:20: Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. This has been a favorite verse of mine for quite some time. In fact, on my senior picture in the yearbook, I used this verse as my quote that was posted with my name. I was a mess that year, but I loved that verse, and I still love that verse because it is full of hope!! God is able to work in us and accomplish more in our lives than we can even think to ask Him for! That is the grace and favor of a loving Heavenly Father. I’ve prayed this verse over my life so many times I’ve lost count, and I’ve experienced the truth of this verse countless times as well. I came from a broken, messy, painful past but God has done and is doing so much more in my life than I’ve even asked Him for, and I’m so grateful and also excited to see what else He has in store.
Whatever it is you’re facing right now, know that God does have a plan for your life. He wants you to succeed in it, so give Him all your hopes and dreams. Surrender your heart to the One who knows how to make it whole. Invite Him into your DAILY life, and watch His power work within you. It’s an amazing thing to see what God can do with our lives. Who knows maybe you’ll even end up writing a blog about it! =)
